SmallSat 2018 Conference Overview
SteamJet recently attended the SmallSat 2018 conference in Logan, Utah. SmallSat is an internationally recognized conference on small satellites, and it takes place annually at the campus of Utah State University. The conference provides a forum for the best minds in the small satellite community to explore new trends, review recent successes, and introduce innovative technologies relevant to the market.
SteamJet Propulsion System at SmallSat 2018
SteamJet introduced its propulsion system, and as a result, customers and industry professionals received it well. In particular, industry experts appreciated the tuna can shape factor, safety features, and overall design quality and performance. Consequently, many key players showed interest in the system for future missions.
“The feedback we received from the small satellite community was extremely good. From day one, we committed to creating a safe and compact propulsion system since day one, as these are essential features in the small satellite market. As a result, we saw a lot of interest around our product, and therefore, we are now pushing product development and testing to make it ready for space” said Marco Pavan, CEO of SteamJet Space Systems.
About SteamJet Space Systems
SteamJet Space Systems is a leading UK-based provider of high-performance satellite propulsion solutions. We specialise in water-based propulsion solutions designed specifically for CubeSats and Small Satellites (SmallSats), prioritising operational safety and rapid launch integration.
By pioneering the use of green propellants and intelligent thermal engineering, SteamJet enables complex LEO (Low Earth Orbit) manoeuvres — including orbital maintenance, collision avoidance, and de-orbiting — without the risks associated with toxic hydrazine or high-pressure cold gas systems, advancing green propulsion for space missions.
